Meet Teresa Super, ONE Super Administrative Services Manager

When Teresa Super finished interviewing for her position with ONE Environmental Group in May 2019, she returned to her car thinking, “That’s my job. That’s my place. That’s my people.”

She cannot imagine a better opportunity.

“What I admire the most about the partners within this organization is simply that the concept of team and ONE is not lip service,” she says. “They firmly believe that each person they bring on board contributes a significant amount to that team concept.”

Teresa is the first full-time administrator to be hired at ONE. The Richmond native juggles multiple responsibilities related to accounts receivable, human resources and supply purchasing. She evaluates processes to improve efficiency and supports employees with their needs in the field. Teresa recently completed her first presentation for ONE, noting, “You get the opportunity to get out of your comfort zone and learn and grow here.”

The graduate of Austin Peay State University holds a bachelor’s in business administration. She lived in Clarksville, Tennessee for eight years and Washington state for six prior to returning to her hometown in 2014. She has two adult children, Carter and Allissa, and six grandchildren. Teresa enjoys gardening, personal development and giving back to the community on service days organized by Heights Church in Glen Allen.

Meet Kerry McAvoy, Principal

How fitting that a former player on a Final Four lacrosse team evolved to become a leader at ONE Environmental Group, which values the same discipline, hard work and commitment that drove Kerry McAvoy at Notre Dame.

The Baltimore native started at ONE in 2011, became a Principal in 2018, and cannot imagine a better place to work.

“I’m never going to need a resume again because I’m never going to need another job,” she says. “I’m so proud that all of us at ONE take care of what’s important. We take care of our people and our clients. We form good relationships, and I’m excited about the projects we work on.”

Kerry graduated from Notre Dame with a bachelor’s in environmental science, which capped a memorable senior year when the Irish advanced to their first-ever Final Four in women’s lacrosse.

She returned to Baltimore for a position with the U.S. Army Medical Research Institute of Chemical Defense and earned her master’s in environmental science and policy from Johns Hopkins University.

Kerry relocated to Richmond with her husband, Sean, to complete his medical residency. Hired by ONE as a Junior Associate, she transitioned to full-time status within months. Kerry found her niche in industrial compliance in various environmental media.

Along with her toddler, Haley, Kerry enjoys what she calls “adventures” around Richmond, whether they explore a park or walk along the James River. She and Sean are also parents to their Goldendoodle, Jack, a retired therapy dog.

ONE’s Jenny Tang attends Environmental Awareness Bootcamp

Jenny Tang of ONE’s Charlotte, North Carolina office recently attended the Environmental Awareness Bootcamp, hosted and taught by EPA Alliance, on August 29 through September 1, 2017 in Hilton Head, South Carolina. Jenny supports ONE’s environmental compliance program implementing the use of both state and federal regulations to conduct audits and inspections, prepare site specific plans, complete field investigative tasks, and generate personalized environmental reports. To receive a refresher and stay up to date on the current regulations, this course was at the top of her list.

Jenny offered the following feedback on this course:

“This course focused on a number of federal regulations that could be applied to and impact a facility. There was a framework of over 20 topics including detailed lessons on subjects such as the CAA, CWA, RCRA, TSCA, Environmental Reporting, ISO 14001 and many more. The course provided a review of the history behind these regulations with an evaluation of their progression over time. Once the foundation of these everchanging standards were covered, we got right down to business into identifying their applicability to both individual and general facilities. I found the entire course to be very beneficial and appreciated the vast variety of topics we discussed. The run through of so many regulations ensured that the ones specific to our clients would be covered plus some. It was quick enough to get that refresher, but also detailed enough to receive those vital updates.”
