Richard Joye

Senior Health and Safety Director

As Senior Health and Safety Director at ONE Environmental Group, Richard Joye brings a wealth of experience and a heart for service that aligns perfectly with our mission. He is based in Lexington, South Carolina and supports ONE’s Mid-Atlantic operations while also helping expand our internal and client-facing Health and Safety services.

Originally from Orangeburg, SC, Richard started his career serving in the U.S. Air Force. After transitioning to civilian life, he worked in a chemical plant where he rose from filling drums to becoming a certified chemical process technician. It was during this time that his passion for safety took root. After volunteering with a local fire department and becoming a fire service and EMS instructor, Richard pivoted his career toward EHS, taking on leadership roles at major companies like Michelin, Honda, Ingersoll-Rand, and FN America.

Richard’s connection with ONE began during his time at FN America, where he worked with the company as a client. That relationship opened the door to a new opportunity. “ONE was looking to expand their internal health and safety program,” Richard explains. “I was excited about the chance to help shape and grow it.”

Today, Richard plays a dual role at ONE: guiding our internal health and safety initiatives while also working with clients to offer health and safety consulting services. With certifications that include Master Certified EHS Manager, Psychological Health and Safety Manager, Certified Ergonomic Evaluation Specialist, and multiple OSHA credentials, Richard brings top-tier expertise to the role.

But it’s not just his credentials that make Richard a valuable part of the team. It’s also his character. “What I like best about working at ONE is the people,” he says. “Their attitude didn’t change when I went from being a client to being a team member. They’re just a good group of genuine people who want to help in the most sincere way.”

Outside of work, Richard is just as active. A lover of all things water, he enjoys boating and scuba diving — a hobby he’s pursued since the late ’90s, with dives all over the Caribbean and Gulf. He hopes to one day explore the Pacific and the Great Barrier Reef. He’s also deeply committed to his church, volunteering for mission trips, oil change ministries for widows, and serving on the church safety team. He’s also an avid cook, especially when it comes to grilling or griddle cooking outdoors.

Richard lives with his wife of 15 years, and they have two daughters and two grandsons. Their family also includes two rescue pups, Jack and Maddie.

We’re proud to have Richard on board as we continue to grow our Health and Safety  services and foster a culture of safety, both within our own team and for our clients.
