Owen Lohner started his career at ONE Environmental Group in 2015, the summer after he graduated from Virginia Tech. From day one, he has worked alongside the company owners and touts a culture that enables him to form personal relationships with each of them.

As a geologist, he focuses on groundwater sampling and remediation — a satisfying role that appeals to his environmental consciousness.

He is also part of projects that involve industrial hygiene and hazardous materials.

Owen doesn’t miss an opportunity to enjoy the outdoors in his free time.

“I have a fondness for helping protect the nature I enjoy,” he says.

On weekends, he heads for the hills to hike or ride his mountain bike. Every chance he can, he goes whitewater kayaking on the James River.

He and his wife, Hannah, also enjoy spending time with their dog, Porter, a Miniature Pinscher mix.

The avid Virginia Tech fans enjoy trekking to Lane Stadium, where they have season tickets for Hokies football.
